Le Fournil- Antigua’s Authentic French Bakery
Le Fournil which is French for oven was founded in 2014 in Guatemala City by 3 partners of which two are from France and one from Guatemala. Since then, they have expanded to three bakeries in Guatemala City and recently have
opened here in Antigua!
On entering you can see it’s an authentic bakery which respects the pure French gastronomic traditions.
Le Fournil is above all the love of bread: water, flour, sourdough, a little salt, experience, and a lot of patience… Try their various baguettes. If you’ve spent time in France, you’ll know they’re the real thing! Loaves of fresh artisanal bread, both sourdough, traditional and with seeds all freshly baked stand before you. If you love croissants, you won’t be disappointed. They’re buttery and flaky just like their pan au chocolat.
But at Le Fournil, there’s much more including brioche, chausson pommes, a flaky puff pastry filled with apple, and the very moreish caracolas which is a spiral pastry filled with raisins. For something savoury, try the croque-monsieur or maybe a fresh quiche.
