The Beginning:

Hotel Dos Mundos Panajachel, started as an adventure that turned into a success story. It all started when Mauricio Elci (owner of Grupo Dos Mundos, S.A.) fell in love with the most beautiful and mystical lake in the world. He decided then to bet on this country and start his life as a Guatemalan – with Italian blood – convinced and decided that Guatemala and its people were going to be the base and the future of his family. In 1992 the doors of the Hotel Dos Mundos Panajachel were opened, aiming to provide excellence since the first day.

Nowadays:

Dos Mundos Panajachel is going through a remodeling phase with the sole purpose of satisfying the demands of its customers. After 25 years and with great effort, they seek to refresh the image of the hotel, preserving the elements that make up its essence.

All the renovation work has been carefully planned so that it is respectful of the environment and especially to the lake, giving continuity to the efforts of Hotel Dos Mundos to preserve Lake Atitlán. It is worth mentioning that it was the first hotel in the basin of Lake Atitlán in having a bio-digester to try to mitigate the contamination of the lake.

To remember and never forget, you will find a traditional Italian cuisine in the hotel’s restaurant “La Lanterna”, where customers can find unique dishes and homemade pasta, complemented by the good service that has always characterized Grupo Dos Mundos.
