THREADS FROM WITHIN at Panza Verde Gallery

 

Born in Antigua Guatemala in July 1996, Andrea Ruano Munoz was from an early age surrounded by culture and a deep appreciation for plastic and textile art. Focusing on the field of fashion and influenced by modern art, creating captivating works using textiles and various materials, while employing ancient techniques.

On this occasion, Andrea Ruano presents “Threads from with,” a work that alludes to the Mayan cross, a tool utilized for deciphering the transcendent life of individuals. The central concept revolves around the transmission of spiritual and material aspects and the exploration of time and space. This artistic exploration is captured through graphic representations displayed in photographs, which are printed on handmade recycled paper and enhanced with engraved and embroidered threads.

 

Collaborative works with esteemed photographer friends and colleagues, Santiago Billy Prem and Eduardo Montepeque.
