Event Details

Panza Verde Gallery proudly presents ‘Blanco Y Negro,’ the latest exhibition by the renown artist, Juan Manuel Diaz Puerta.

Juan Manuel Diaz Puerta was born on September 1, 1965 in Entre Ríos, Argentina.

At an early age he felt a penchant for painting, drawing and comics. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires and later obtained a Bachelor of Visual Arts.

His artistic and personal interests led him to explore various expressive paths; fundamental in his development was the encounter with the Pre-Columbian Cultures of South America, especially the Tiwanaku Civilization in Bolivia. In the ’90s he settled in Spain and toured Europe, showing his art in numerous exhibitions.

Already working as a developed artist, he arrived in Guatemala in 2009, as he was invited to exhibit by a gallery in the capital. The Central American country was for him the ideal space to develop his ultimate artistic form of expression.

This exhibition in Panza Verde synthesizes “the Guatemalan years” of Juan Manuel Diaz Puerta, for whom painting, in addition to aesthetic pleasure and joy, is a reason for reflection. His taste for anatomical and architectural drawing added to the delicate use of gray scale leads us to contemplation – but not without questions.

The show runs until June 3.
