La Nueva Fábrica is an art space in Antigua, Guatemala, that supports creative exploration through rotating exhibitions of contemporary art, a historic photography archive, an artist residency program and community events.
At La Nueva Fábrica you’ll discover historic and contemporary art by artists from Guatemala and around the world, have a delicious meal at the onsite restaurant “Le Comedor,” inside two “chicken buses,” and support Guatemalan brands by shopping at their gift shop.
La Nueva Fábrica is part of New Roots Foundation, founded in 1998 by Lissie Habie, with the purpose of supporting the education, the arts, and the environment in Guatemala. After battling brain cancer for several years, Lissie Habie passed away in 2008. To honour Lissie’s life and unique philanthropic vision, New Roots Foundation has been providing opportunities for artists and supporting education through art since 2013.
La Nueva Fábrica is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00am to 05:00pm and Saturdays until 06:00pm. The cost of admission is Q10.00 for Guatemalan nationals and Q50.00 for foreigners. Children 12 years and under, Santa Ana residents and students with identification enter free of charge. The cost of admission directly supports their programming.
