La Fototeca has a mission to educate a new generation of photographers that will develop to have a social and cultural impact in Guatemala and the world, we seek to educate, promote, document and above all celebrate photography.
We have trained more than 2,000 photographers within the last 8 years through workshops, talks and conferences taught by national and international photographers of great relevance. The School has been a meeting point for the medium of photography. The workshops given for different levels of experience have seen the development of an interesting generation of new Guatemalan photographers.
Now we have been presented with the beautiful opportunity to take our mission to the magical city of Antigua, in order to create a bridge between its residents and the visual world through the technical / theoretical concepts of photography, with the help of historical references and the use of tools to create stunning, original and creative images
We will offer a Photography Workshop on Saturday, May 5 at the Museo Arte Guatemala by Professor Alex Quintana, where we will discuss topics such as:
– Start with a quick, complete overview of the world of photography.
– Let’s get to know your camera, both the strengths and weaknesses.
– How to start shooting in Manual Mode!
– What equipment you need for your goal, and what equipment you do not.
– The rules for the perfect framing.
– Learn to control the light, and shadow.
– Post-Production / Photo Editing
– We’ll finish with getting out into the streets and shooting some pictures.
