Founded in 1992, the Colegio Ciudad Vieja School has been Guatemala’s leading crammer school teaching students at the lower secondary and secondary levels (grades 7-12), where they graduate with a high school Diploma in Sciences and Literature.
The school serves overage students or students in need of grade repetition and/or remedial education. The student population is between 13 and 18 years old, with both girls and boys attending.
Grades are organized on a semi-annual basis, with a semester being the equivalent to one school grade. Grades are delivered on a weekly basis and subjects are assigned bimonthly. Students can follow classes either in the mornings or in the afternoons, from Monday to Friday (8 am to 5pm). Students from 10th and 11th grade also study on Saturdays from 8 am to 12.30pm and carry out field work as part of their Seminar subject.
Ciudad Vieja School is characterized by an intensive class schedule, projection towards the community (ecological, educational, social), semester training, an educational strategy to level the student, and excellent academic formation, as well as the teaching of essential values of ethics, morals, civility, work, and the spirit of (academic) improvement.
