“My artistic work for more than 20 years has revolved around my own image; the captivating and complex fact of being a woman, motherhood, uprooting, music and silence.
My paintings are about me, they convey the things that happen to me, the images that come to me, waiting for that surprise that accompanies the technique, the moment, the feelings, the color palette or the music, always ending within the silence of the image.
I am struck by the complexity of the world’s exterior. So much visual and auditory noise that does not let us return to ourselves and discover the beauty of simplicity. One of many explanations that could give of those closed eyes and the arms that refuse to have contact.
I believe in harmony, in rhythms, also in assonance, disorder and improvisation, I believe in the simplicity of the image and in the subjectivity of the message.
This is my painting: a simple parenthesis in time. ”
If you´re in Antigua then you really should make time to see her work.
