In La Antigua, between San Felipe de Jesús and Jocotenango, inside Filadelfia Coffee Resort and Tours (commonly known as Finca Filadelfia), about 150 meters north of the San Felipe church, you will find Antigua Canopy Tours.
The Qué Pasa team paid them a visit and – besides from having fun and engaging in some teambuilding – we paid great attention and asked many questions so that you can learn more about zip-lining and the experience that you can expect.
Zip-lining consists of a series of platforms constructed in trees or built of stone on the ground in the mountains to see the landscape and the flora and fauna. The platforms are connected by double lines of horizontal cables.
Antigua Canopy Tours’ zip-lining course is located inside a coffee plantation that allows you to experience incredible views. The guides are trained in specialized techniques to help participants navigate through the different sections and glide along the lines from one platform to the next.
They provide you with the best equipment available (Petzl and PMI) and their system meets all the international standards recommended by the ACCT.
Each canopy tour lasts an average of two to three hours after arriving at the Cafetenango restaurant parking lot, which is located inside Finca Filadelfia. You can get there by yourself or you can use one of the very cool Unimogs they provide as transport from La Antigua.
It’s an activity in which all the family can participate while being taken care of by a professional and attentive team that’s worked for over 9 years to make sure everyone who visits has the best time ever!
