Andrea Aragon at Panza Verde Gallery

Andrea Aragon’s latest exhibition is titled Trama Azul, which opens at Panza Verde Gallery in Antigua Guatemala on Friday the 3rd of October.

ANDREA ARAGÓN’S WORK HAS BEEN FEATURED IN TEN SOLO EXHIBITIONS AND OVER FORTY-FIVE GROUP SHOWS BOTH IN GUATEMALA AND INTERNATIONALLY. SHE HAS BEEN AN INVITED ARTIST AT PHOTOESPANA (2010 AND 2016), FIVE EDITIONS OF THE PAIZ BIENNIAL (2008-2014), TWO CENTRAL AMERICAN BIENNIALS (2014 AND 2016), AND THE LIMA PHOTOGRAPHY BIENNIAL.

IN 2016, SHE HELD A SOLO EXHIBITION AT THE BRONX MUSEUM OF THE ARTS IN NEW YORK, AND IN 2017 PARTICIPATED IN THE GROUP EXHIBITION 33,000 KMS IN SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA. HER PHOTOGRAPHY HAS BEEN PUBLISHED IN SEVERAL NOTABLE BOOKS, INCLUDING MAPAS ABIERTOS (SPAIN, 2004), PANDEMIC: FACING AIDS (USA, 2002), AND FOTOGRAFÍA CONTEMPORÁNEA GUATEMALTECA (GUATEMALA, 2018).

SHE IS THE AUTHOR OF GUATEMALA DE MIS DOLORES, PUBLISHED BY EDICIONES DEL PENSATIVO. ARAGÓN HAS BEEN A GUEST ARTIST AT JUANNIO AND ROZAS-BOTRÁN’S ARTE EN MAYO, RECEIVING HONORABLE MENTIONS IN BOTH 2024 AND 2025.

On a personal note, Andrea, besides being a well known photographer and owner of Utopia located just across the street from Panza Verde, is such a lovely lady. If you’re around Antigua on the 3rd, then do pop in for the opening. If not, the exhibition runs until the end of the month.
